About

Who is the person behind Nurture Play Love? Let me introduce myself!

My name is Patricia, born in the Netherlands 31 years ago and living in Thailand now.
In 2009 I packed my backpack and traveled through Southeast Asia. In Thailand my life was changed forever when I fell in love with Jack, a local who ran a volunteer organization. After volunteering for a few months I flew back to the Netherlands only to return again after a few months because we missed each other too much. This time I knew for sure, I’ll move to Thailand!

In 2012 I moved permanently. It hasn’t always been easy without being able to find work in rural Thailand, (sometimes both) without any income and not having friends or family around. My love for Jack and for Thailand were strong enough to overcome these struggles.

In the Netherlands I lived a fast life, always busy pursuing the next goal. Here in Thailand I had the time to slow down and absorb everything. I had time for yoga and emerged myself more and more into it. A 7 day yoga retreat nearby made such a deep impact on me. Surrounded by amazing people and teachers, my love for yoga, meditation and astrology grew only bigger.

We’ve been always very open toward each other about our hopes to become parents. In 2013 we were blessed with a beautiful daughter Luna. I was so grateful that I was able to stay home and care for her full-time. It was such a peaceful and wonderful time.

The end of 2015 our family grew with the birth of our son Deva and I started working remotely for an interior design company. Things seemed to be going well but slowly I developed a postpartum depression. It wasn’t until I found my way back to yoga that I reconnected with myself again. Doing the yoga teacher training allowed me to deepen my practice and strengthening my own being.

It has been a long learning curve for me but I came out stronger. I now practice yoga daily, but my practice doesn’t always involve asanas (physical practice). I’ve immersed myself deeply into the yoga philosophy, the sacred rituals, the New and Full Moon ceremonies and meditations. Yoga is a state of mind, not a state of the body. All that I learned over the years of being a mother but also just being a woman, is something I’m passionate about to share with others.

A peaceful mind is possible among all the chaos.

A balanced life is possible during stressful times.

I’m not here to tell you life is all about rainbow, butterflies and unicorns. Life is hard but learning how to flow through the seasons of life will make you a more balanced and well aligned human being. And I’m here to help you achieve that!

Much Love,

Patricia
